SIL 2018

On June 7, SIL 2018 closed the doors of its twentieth edition.

The SIL, International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition, is the leading show in the sector in Spain, the Mediterranean and Southern Europe.

The Business Organization of the Logistics and Transport Operators point out that the sector represents 8% of the Spanish GDP. In this 2018 have foreseen that as a whole will reach a turnover of about 110,000 million euros and generate about 800,000 jobs

650 companies participated in this year’s edition, of which 390 were national. 278 professionals of the press have been accredited. There have been 27 conference sessions, attended by more than 3,200 professionals in the sector. In these conferences, 220 «speakers» participated, and 121 success stories were presented.

In addition, the show has made a strong commitment to industry 4.0, creating the SIL Barcelona 4.0 Zone, where they presented the latest trends in innovation and practical cases in the implementation that these solutions 4.0 offer, both for logistics and for the entire chain of supply.

SIL 2018 prizes, awarded by the International Logistics Fair (SIL), were also awarded. These awards were delivered on Wednesday night in the so-called Night of Logistics in Barcelona.

Zara was awarded in the category of logistics efficiency and technological innovation by the same day delivery system that offers both afternoon and evening time slots. Also, firms such as Media Markt, in the digitalization category, and Ford España, in the category of logistics sustainability were awarded.

The most successful Hall ever is closed, with the view already set at the SIL 2019, which will take place between June 25 and 27 at the Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuic-Plaza España fairgrounds.
