20 May Immologistics hiring grows during the first quarter of 2021
According to the latest data from CBRE, the real estate sector reached 670,000m² of hiring in the first quarter of this year 2021. This figure represents an increase of 134% compared to the same period in 2020.
If we review the figures by area, the “Zona Centro” grew 167% with 345,000m² hired. Of which 187,000m² are net contracting. The second highest figure in the last decade.
In Catalonia 235,000m² have been contracted, of which 215,000m² were net contracting. This figure doubles that of 2020. The increase in demand related to Ecommerce continues to stand out, accounting for 78% of transactions.
In Valencia, the hiring fell by -17% compared to the same period in 2020. The hiring stood at 32,000m².
In Zaragoza, 18,000m² of contracts were registered, well above the 4,000m² of the previous year.
In the city of Seville, recruitment reached 6,000m², almost half the figure for 2020.
In Malaga, the lack of quality offer continues to condition hiring. Only a single operation of 14,000 m² has been registered, related to an Ecommerce operator.
And finally, in Bilbao there was no significant variation compared to 2020. The contracted figure almost reached 2,000 m2.
Logistics investment in figures
Investment in this first quarter of 2021 has reached the figure of 139.9 million euros, which represents a drop of -65% compared to the investment reached in 2020 during the same period.
According to CBRE, this data should not be alarming since there is still a lot of appetite on the part of investors towards the sector and many operations that began to take shape in 2020 continue their course. Therefore, the investment volume is expected to increase in the second quarter of 2021.
