II Edition of the Smart Mobility World Congress
From November 13th to 15th at the Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía exhibition center, the second edition of the Smart Mobility World Congress (SMC) will take place, the conference on smart mobility.
Focused on intelligent urban and interurban transport, under the slogan ‘The Next Move’, the congress will discuss the challenges that urban concentration poses in terms of mobility. Aspects such as public transport networks, sustainable mobility, autonomous vehicles, new transportation models, logistics, railways or payment systems will be dealt with during the congress.
The second edition of the SMC plans to host 20,000 visitors, more than 50 exhibiting cities, 700 participating cities, more than 400 lecturers and 50 sessions that will deal with the different topics.
Some of the speakers that will attend the meeting are: Mar Alarcón, CEO of SocialCar, Khaled Bin Abdullah Al Hogail, first executive of Saudi Public Transport Company, or Howard Permut, former president of the Metro North Railway in the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York
Companies such as Alstom, Bosch, Acciona, Cisco, Microsoft, Deloitte, Ferrovial, Hexagon, Huawei, Torrot Electric Europe or Deutsche Telecom will attend the event as exhibiting companies. In total more than 700 exhibitors will be present.
Pere Calvet, General Director of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya and President of the Smart Mobility World Congress commented that this is an “unbeatable opportunity” for all actors in the field of mobility, to be able to meet in a place to reflect about the challenges of the future.
A special edition of the UMii Forum (Urban Mobility Innovation Index) will be held during the congress. UMii’s main objective is to provide information on mobility and urban innovation in cities around the world. In addition to offering a guide for cities to promote innovation in their services and urban mobility systems. The data from those who work are obtained at the global level of the cities invited to participate in its index.
